But visibilty in of itself is not the only goal. As I read it he only wants visibility to parlay into political aspirations. If you piss people off sure they'll watch you, but they'll never vote for you. Why would those libertarians listen to his message when they can go anywhere else in media to hear that same message?

It's visibility that invites engagement. Look at it this way, suppose he goes into a socialist forum and says "Pure capitalism is anti-liberty because the more wealth that accumulates in the hands of a few the harder it becomes for the rest to compete in a free market".
Well, socialists don't give a fuck about competition, liberty, or free markets, but they'll see the message and think "Yeah, that too. Another reason Capitalism sux! lolz"
The end. No engagement.

You take that same message to a Libertarian forum and they're going to be on fire. They give a fuck about all those things, and it will be the first time in a long time that they've heard an argument that wasn't some form of capitalism sux, business people sux, America sux, Et the RICH!!!

Engagement.
Engagement through disagreement.
Disagreement through new takes on shared values.

That's the model I'm proposing.
