But visibilty in of itself is not the only goal. As I read it he only wants visibility to parlay into political aspirations. If you piss people off sure they'll watch you, but they'll never vote for you. Why would those libertarians listen to his message when they can go anywhere else in media to hear that same message?DBTrek wrote:Repeating an echo in an echo chamber is a poor way to build visibility.clubgop wrote:You would have to know where he lives first. As for the media rollout do the opposite. You want people to agree with you not dismiss you out of hand.

It's visibility that invites engagement. Look at it this way, suppose he goes into a socialist forum and says "Pure capitalism is anti-liberty because the more wealth that accumulates in the hands of a few the harder it becomes for the rest to compete in a free market".clubgop wrote:But visibilty in of itself is not the only goal. Well, socialists don't give a fuck about competition, liberty, or free markets, but they'll see the message and think "Yeah, that too. Another reason Capitalism sux! lolz"
The end. No engagement.
You take that same message to a Libertarian forum and they're going to be on fire. They give a fuck about all those things, and it will be the first time in a long time that they've heard an argument that wasn't some form of capitalism sux, business people sux, America sux, Et the RICH!!!
BAM!
Engagement.
Engagement through disagreement.
Disagreement through new takes on shared values.
That's the model I'm proposing.

Even the first one is a winner
Nuke et al, your input on whether its a smart tactic to add his aphorisms after relevant articles/news/etc? IS the better way to add value?Always doubt the motivations of anyone who says they know what's best for everyone.

But man that list of aphorisms and comments started to give me the feeling Jack Nicholson's wife got in The Shining when she sees all the cigs lined up neatly.
Anyway, gonna use the good stuff, always seeking input into how to get Martin's twitter noticed, not something I know much about.
