Speed, violence and aggression happens, AR's are like toys, they break all the time.

AR's are actually junk to be honest. It's designed for the military to be mass produced cheaply.

Aren't they all?

Not the FN FAL, it wasn't cheaply made, that's why America didn't adopt it.

America adopted the AR because it was cheap. Cost savings for a huge military.

The original M16's were garbage, they were gone very quickly

Then the M16A1 was also junk, so that was gone not too long after

Then the M16A2 comes along, was still pretty crappy, but it was adequate and cheap.

Meanwhile the original FN FAL : I was still using one 30 years later, three generations of AR in the meantime.

The best AR platform is arguably the German one : HK416

That's gonna cost you $3000

Still not better than FN FAL

FN FAL is still the best NATO battle rifle : 70 years later.

My second choice would be a Kalashnikov
