We don't need society for roads. Or road rules. Or pretty much anything.

Even by Kath's fatuous definition, there is no "society" in Canada, because we don't actually agree on anything, and if weren't for the Crown, there would be war, and we would line the leftist elites and their "society" up against a wall and shoot it.

Obviously we need rules on which side of the road we drive on.
We need all sorts of conventions for use of roads.
We don't need society to get these things.
We don't need society to have road rules.

You can't be a libertarian and be a Vols fan. Tennessee spends a shitload of money on their football program and they continually reach new athletic lows. The boosters and alumni tried using money and the free market to attract the best coaches, but reality has shown that neither is up to the task. How about letting the government try Fife? You know as well as I do that a bailout is in order.Fife wrote:Who are you on about now? Where are the "libertarians" around here?Martin Hash wrote:Libertarians are the ultimate Free Riders.

I will grant that we probably DO need some society for an adequate helicopter fleet.

It really comes down to the Americans, because in 1812, we were just about to line the elites and their "society" up against a wall and shoot it, when out of the blue the Americans attacked us with 30,000 troops, and that threat is pretty much the only thing which has been binding us together ever since.

Let's talk about the thousands of cars that travel on I-95 every day. Let's assume that at least 1/2 of them are idiots. (Not a huge assumption.) Now, let's not designate anything as North bound or South bound.
How's that work, in your mind, Fife?

One man's society is another man's capitalist kingdom, while the other man's society is a communist gulag. It makes it tough to talk about "society" when the discrepancy is so large.
