I started watching the first season of Gunsmoke, which premiered a long time before I was born, I think around 1955.
It is great, based AF, and kinda dark too.
I've gotten through the first few episodes. In the very first show a Saloon girl destroys a guys life by coercing him to make enough money so that she'll be his gal.
Another episode a man is cheated by his 'friends' when he's down and out, wife leaves him too, kicked off his leased ranch, screwed by the cattle buyer and he comes back to play on their greed later.
Another episode a gal coerces a young man to kill her husband with the promise of being together.
I'm lovin it.
For those of you not familiar the show is centered around Marshall Matt Dillion of Dodge City, Kansas during the frontier days. The cast includes Miss Kitty the Saloon owner, town Doc, and Deputy.
It's pretty damn refreshing compared to modern entertainment.

Re: What show are you watching right now?
HA! So I watched the first episode of Survivor season 41. It is a junk watch of mine but I haven't watched any shows in about a year.
4 or 5 gays, 1 covid mother death, 1 cancer father death, Probst can no longer say "Come on in, guys." because the one gay dude who is married to a pregnant tranny husband with a 22 month old daughter (how's that for a mouthful? Although, I am curious about the logistics on that dude pregnancy.) objected to the usage of the word "guys". So Probst in all his woke glory said "Ok, it is just Come on in from now on."
All the news stories were how the gay dude married to the trans was the real winner of the season even though he finished 4th. I'm sure glad that I don't pay for any of this clown world bullshit.
On a different not, the latest season of Alone isn't a bad watch.

I never watched the show. It's the type of thing I would be interested in, but the little I've skimmed it, meh. Too much fake reality tv drama. I'd like to watch some of the early seasons if it was on a platform with no commercials and I could zip through fake drama.

Atlanta is the second best show on TV right nowMartin Hash wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 9:20 amBetter Call Saul and Barry. I'll have to look into Atlanta?
it does things no other show has the balls to do
and if they tried to, it would probably suck
but Atlanta makes it work despite the massive degree of difficulty required to pull it off
everytime they go off on some random tangent, it's a hit, you learn to trust it will work in the end
after they keep delivering on what appears impossible to deliver on
just go with flow, let Atlanta be Atlanta
they know what their doing, especially when it seems like they don't
it's a box of chocolates, with nothing but good surprises
not knowing what you're gonna get is half the fun
no show has the range Atlanta has
it does everything and it does everything well
Twin Peaks with rappers FTW
it's a fucking gem
