What? I'm still learning how to do all this shit. Getting good with the meme caster and bait net. Just got back from the pond at the park. Some guy called me over after harassing a ducklet and asked if I had clippers. Ducklet had a three inch hook embedded in him. Some asshole tried to snag it months ago apparently. It was too deep in there so I cut the line. Some kind of croaker hook that bent inwards. Doubt I could have pushed it out the other waySpeaker to Animals wrote:Meanwhile, nukedog can open a tackle shop out of his van with all this gear and the scoreboard still says ZERO FISH.

Looks like a circle hook but yeah that's kind of what it felt like. More like one of my croaker hooks that are a pain to bait mullet on. Couldn't find the end or I would have considered pushing it out and clipping the hook off but it just pushed a knot of muscle.Kazmyr wrote:Like this?Nukedog wrote: What? This is why I am hesitant to try fly fishing.

I caught a sixty pound king salmon in Alaska when I was nine. Ate it too. Halibut, Red Salmon, Rainbow trout. Fishing in Texas is nothing like Alaska though. Anyway, I'm trying new reels and learning the basics. I'm not even mad rn I feel sorry for people that have never fished Alaska like I have.GrumpyCatFace wrote:More of a man than nukedog.Speaker to Animals wrote:

I fish fine in public over fished areas when I figure the reel/weight/line/pole out. Got some great action in a headwind at the park with my meme caster and seven foot pole medium action on twelve pound line with a six pound flouro leader. I didn't really have a good lure or any crimp sinkers though.
