That would be interesting. His obit is interesting nonetheless. The closest I see to WWII info is in the NYT obit: Born in Yokohama, Japan, on Dec. 24, 1925, Mr. Nakamura attended what is now Yokohama National University. He studied shipbuilding, according to a short résumé provided by Bandai Namco.

Not taking anything away from the guy or implying anything, Pac-Man and Galaian were great, stole many rolls of quarters from me in my youth. But I looked for like 15 minutes and found no mention of WWII service. He was 18 in 1943, there is no way he escaped service to the Empire. Yet no mention of it.

February 7, 2017 — Paul Hatch, on behalf of the Hatch family and friends is sad to confirm the passing of his beloved father Richard Lawrence Hatch, who passed away in Los Angeles, California this afternoon.

He died peacefully with his family and friends at his side after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Richard was well known to legions of fans for his roles as Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica television series and also as Tom Zarek in the 2003 remake of the series.

He died from pneumonia and a kidney infection earlier surrounded by his three sons and family, his rabbi said.

Rabbi Arnold Saunders said he "had nine lives and was an inspiration".
