Then all your F-35 customers buy Commander Data, because Lockheed Martin has cornered the market, so no one else in the Western World has a Commander Data, because they have all gone out of business.

Commander Data, should he exist secretly out at Tonopah, is not affordable for export, thus F-35 fills the gap for the next twenty to thirty years until he is.
Indubitably, my good man.

Eh. Not really. Boeing has the unmanned vehicle thing nailed down rather solidly. If any classified program exists for drone swarms, I suspect it is run by them.

In the end, the F-35 customers will just upload Commander Data into the Panther, when Optionally Manned comes in a future update.

Talk to me when it's not a secret, until then and probably for a while after, suck on the fumes of F-35 Winslow.

Again tho, political and legal considerations will likely make Optionally Manned a very rare option in combat, since it will be a long time before Commander Data is trusted to be an actual Commander.

Boeing has long been the superior aircraft vendor (in the world). Even in terms of UAVs, the secret space program is almost exclusively served by Boeing, and most of the shit that comes out from that is obviously autonomous vehicles.

Boeing will be out of the fighter business very soon, not enough F-15 and F/A-18 customers to keep St. Louis open.
