This is interesting

It's really weird that Country music and Rock music both died at the start of the digital age.

About 15:00 in, they get to the root of the issue.

The change came about when album sales collapsed, and record companies panicked. They refuse to take chances, and all decisions are made by corporate zombies. That's why there's a dedicated XM channel for 80s-90s country. The music was destroyed in the '00s.

When they start talking about live music though... I don't buy that the issue is 'people don't wanna'. It's about the ticket prices. I'm not paying $150 to see something, unless it's LEGENDARY. On top of that, I'm buying $10-15 beer, and wondering whether the band is even playing, or lip synching. Again, corporate zombies betrayed the essence of music.

Very glad they turned me on to Chris Stapleton. That is some good shit...
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Foo Fighters and Nickleback basically murdered Rock.

You can't compare Foo Fighters to Nickelback. One is a legit, classic rock band, and one is Bro Country Grunge-Lite

Yes, you can. They are basically the same kind of shitty music.

They killed Rock. They did what not even the fucking Eagles could accomplish.
