Oskar Sundqvist is now, unlikely as it might seem, the first Swedish NHL player to win the Stanley Cup with two different teams.
Really? How that hasn't happened before is bizarre.

I guess they have had a tendency to stay in the same team. With most Swedes, you can instantly name the team after the name.

That's true, but even still. Must be a helluva lot more prevalent than I thought, or it would have happened a lot earlier.

At least we'd be rid of Babcock then. There's always a silver lining.

Who, Babcock? He's a big reason why they keep floundering.

Mike Babcock Country Club.

They all like him, but they don't play hard for him, they phone in a lot of games.

Rasmus Sandin continuing to impress.

Looks near NHL ready right now.

“All you have to do is watch,” says Mike Babcock of Sandin, one of Toronto’s two young Swedish defenceman. “He’s smart. He knows how to play, he’s got a feel, he’s one of these guys that it doesn’t seem to matter how old he is, because his hockey sense is so good. He sees it. He’s a little guy who seems to know how to defend. He seems to know how to leverage his body. He just seems to be a good player.

"And the other thing about him, when you talk to him, he doesn’t get all uptight. He’s just, oh, OK, yeah. Or knows what you’re going to say before you say it, most of the time.”
