Why can't other teams be as stupid or more stupid than we are and sign him instead? Hockey Gods, I need a solid here, desperately, stop Joe Sakic from signing Kevin Shattenkirk, please.

Even if somebody gave him all the money up front, that would be preferable to seven years, paying him Connor McDavid money, but being rid of him in two years, would be better than spreading that cap hit out until 2034.

Yet our "great" plan is to woo him by spreading it out.

Preds sign Bonino and Hartnell. Paying $4.1 million for four years of Bonino, way too pricey.

Nobody has signed him yet, maybe the market is wise-ing up, if he only gets Karl Alzner money and term, boy will he be kicking himself aftere turning down Stevie Y's 7 years at 6 million extension, just shows how Yzerman is not actually a genius, because Tampa Bay really dodged a bullet there.

Yzerman's genius is hit and miss, sometimes he makes really smart moves, then he turns around and makes a dumb one. Not the greatest first round draft pick guy either. Passing on Liljegren for Foote, silly, he made that pick because his dad gave him a rough go of it in that Avs-Wings rivalry.

Hockey Gods had to save him from himself, because the piece going the other way for Shattencancer, was Drouin. Yoikes.

The deal was done, the only thing that stopped it was Sahttenkirk turning the extension down, now that, is divine intervention.

Should have traded Duchene for Sergachev like I told you to, all those months ago.

I know. It wasn't me who you needed to convince, not surprised Joe Sakic wasn't smart enough to do it.
