There are no goal posts here. This isn't a sport.

Yeah it is. It's also a silly drinking game, but also a sport. "Sport" and "Drinking Game" aren't antonyms, though not all drinking games are sports obviously.Kath wrote:If you don't have to be in shape to compete, you aren't in a sports competition. Beer pong is not a sport.

Indeed. A silly farce of a sport that not a lot of people take seriously, but a sport nonetheless.Kath wrote:Competitive eating is a sport, then.

You diminish sports & sportsmen when claiming darts, eating hot dogs and beer pong to be sports.

No it doesn't, that is in your head. How seriously you personally take a sport does not effect it's status as as sport or the legitimacy of other sports.Kath wrote:You diminish sports & sportsmen when claiming darts, eating hot dogs and beer pong to be sports.

Re: Is Bodybuilding a Sport?
Physical exertion by internal organs leading to points being scored and a winner among a group of competitors being judged based on that? That's a sport, "ridiculous" and "sport" are not antonyms. Nowhere is it decreed that all sports must be taken seriously by any potential observer or they aren't real sports. Some drinking games are sports, and eating competitions are too, you taking these sports seriously is not required for them to be sports.
