Korshkov signed to ELC, making his debut with the Marlies tonight.
2-2 in the 2nd.

I don't think he's going to score like DeBrincat, on the other hand, the Leafs couldn't even afford DeBrincat.
If the Leafs had DeBrincat, they would have to trade him.
In the meantime, they kind of need a Korshkov, he is big. 6'4" everyday.
I think he will make the team next year, as a fourth liner to start.
Babcock wants size, and the Leafs are likely to trade a winger, or even two.

Having to trade DeBrincat sure seems like a first world problem. Imagine the return on that trade, I'm guessing it would be better than Korshkov.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 5:49 pmI don't think he's going to score like DeBrincat, on the other hand, the Leafs couldn't even afford DeBrincat.

Korshkov was a bad pick, but he could still be a useful piece. Big winger to play with Matthews and Nylander.StCapps wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 5:52 pmHaving to trade DeBrincat sure seems like a first world problem. Dubas has committed to a $40 million dollar Big Four, which means the Korshkovs are going to be needed.
Korshkov is 195 lbs now, which means he put on 15 lbs since being drafted.
If he keeps filling out, could be a poor man's Josh Anderson.

The main thing is that you can't judge a guy by the KHL.
You can't tell what his NHL upside is until you at least see him in the AHL.
I had pretty much written Korshkov off, but actually he looks better than I was expecting.
Still not a DeBrincat home run, on the other hand not looking like a complete bust neither.
He looks like he is NHL ready, although maybe needs another year on the Marlies.
Does look like a second round pick at least, plausible Marleau replacement.
He has some bite too. He just got a penalty for crushing a guy face first into the glass.

See he just got out of the penalty box and right away he went and took a run at another guy.
He is big. He is playing nasty. He is using his size. He can skate. He did score in his first playoff game.
Looking pretty good so far actually.

Marlies win in OT!
Bracco sets up Carcone!
Marlies take 2-0 lead in the series!
Five straight playoff wins!
Playing like the champs right now!
