It's forbidden here to feed chicken non vegetarian stuff. The reason is to prevent cannibalism so they prohibit all animalistic feed.
That means we can't grow maggots and insects from food waste and give it to chickens even though it would be viable.
Now they want us to eat insects instead.

Ordinance here says they can't free range. I'll get the run up once the coop is done, and after that we're gonna fence in the garden so they can scratch in there too.
