Anti-fascism is fascism
Anti-racism is racism
Anti-bullying is bullying
I’m done being manipulated even if I get to live the good life if I just go along.

I honestly don't pay attention to much beyond the walls of my survivalist compound
what fascism is or isn't seems a rather ethereal concern

I can’t find fault with that. As the guys here constantly tell me: move away from Ground Zero. I’ve considered it, but frankly, I’m up for the fight and if not me, who?

the way to stop being manipulated is to stop concerning yourself with things that are beyond your controlMartin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:20 pmI can’t find fault with that. I mean, who are you going to fight ? The Woke ?
it's a puritanical Great Awakening style moral panic
you can't fight those, all you can do is wait them out

I can provide solace & hope to those around me who wonder if they’re the crazy ones? Everyone’s telling them they are but I’m here to reassure them.

it's like saying you are going back to 1919 to fight the Red Scare
orly ? how would that work in an operational sense ?
where do you attack the Red Scare ?
who is the commander of the moral panic, where is its headquarters, what is your axis of advance ?

well, it's just America being America, these moral panics are all part of the deal, it's a constantly repeating cycleMartin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:24 pmI can provide solace & hope to those around me who wonder if they’re the crazy ones? like they don't give a shit in France
this is entirely a British paradigm, come over on the boat, goes all the way back to the Reformation
culture is destiny

Example: the father of a kid in my son’s martial arts class is here. I offered him some 14-year Glenlivet and Laphroaig (my favorite). He’s never had either (out of his league) but he got relaxed and told me in hushed tones that he thought it was a shamdemic too (I’m known online for originating that term). We smiled conspiratorially, and I’m sure he felt better about things in general.

Re: Bought my first house
Canada has always been like this
this Victorian missionary impulse, cleansing their souls through performative religious rights
hyper conformity and decrying the heretics is the essence of Canada
the Woke have always been in charge here, but it's never crimped my style, I just do my own thing, same as it ever was
it's like I was at ground zero for this particular orgy of white guilt self flagellation, back in the 70's
but they've pretty much been running Canada since the late 80's, so it's not like this is new around here
Pierre Trudeau, Justin Trudeau, new boss same as the old boss, literally

it's like you don't have free speech in Canada
but even if you did, you can't reason with anybody here, culture is destiny
ergo, free speech is irrelevant, therefore, moving on
