I feel like everyone is sleeping on Germany trying to create a new model army out of the EU coalition. I don't know to what end they plan on using it either. I think they are paying close attention to the 2050 AD computer models that put them right in the cross hairs.

The Germans are kind of like Canada, wherein the military is basically for pork barreling, prop up German arms makers, Rheinmetall, KMW, Daimler, but this has caused dysfunction, because they've bought a bunch of junk just because it was German junk

Yeah but it doesn't work. It's basically like imagine if the US ran out of Scots-Irish Southerners to staff the combat infantry. How far do you think they would get? Germany has the same problem but worse because all their combat males have been culled. I still think it's interesting they are quitley trying to build up again. It could be like Smitty says, giant pork barrel.

Technically, the Germans invented international jihad. The Kaiser wanted options as to how to defeat the British Empire, one of those options was to incite the Muslims in the British Empire to wage jihad against the Crown.

Didn't work.

Then the British turned the tables by sending Lawrence to Arabia to wage Jihad against the Turks, and that's how allies won the war.

It's true there were Turkish Wermacht battalions but their combat record was just laughable. Worse than Italians. It's really amazing. The German people even after WWI basically fought the whole world with one hand tied behind their back and nine rounds of ammunition a week each.

There were exceptions like Romanians, but they were even worse equipped than the Wermacht.

The First World War was essentially a blockade. American funded, British executed.

The Germans tried to break out by way of Jutland, then they tried to get the Turks to break them out by way of Suez.

Didn't work, so Germany was starved into submission, despite having dominated both the Eastern and Western Fronts by land.

Starvation has long term generational effects as well which makes WWII even more amazing.

World War Two kicked off when Hitler flipped to Mussolini's side, which put Germany with Italy astride the route to Suez, which was the route to India and the Far East for Britain, and Indochina for the French, thus they declared war on Germany soon after, under the rubric of saving Poland.

After the French got taken out, Churchill roped the Americans into trying to save the Empire, until Stalin put a stop to it by saying lets get back driving on Berlin already.
