I'm not a EE, but I grew up with a TV repairman/ham radio grandfather, and a PhD in physics father who grew up with him for a father... I used to devour Radio-Electronics/73 magazines as a kid (remember the Altair8800 kit article in '74/75(?), that's what's spurred me into computers), so I have a lot of the background - but no EE degree. Its still a hobby though. I do think it helped me with computers on a level most people don't understand though?
