Serling, still a private after three years,

This is a funny thing about military records, you can tell a lot about morsels like that. Like when the crazed shooter kills 2 people with 200 rounds and the press is all.................... He was a Specialist and Marksman.

Well, congratu-fucking-lations, I'm really impressed.

Wow, didn't know about Ford's morality police. Good stuff!

Whatever, man, be the provocateur; I dig that myself. I do like to at least wink and nod at the facts, most of the time, though.

Plus, I'm not pissing on Serling for shits and giggles; quite the opposite.

As for somebody's work I really enjoy, but was probably an unbearable dick IRL, I'll go first with Heinlein. I don't have to repeat rubbish gossip about the man to make that assessment, though.
I quoted "wikipedia" twice in the OP. Did you try looking at his cited wikipedia page?

Great wiki research, broham. The one and only source for all that scurrilous shit was a tell-all pulp, unauthorized "biography" by some TV Guide level hack. I'd say there is plenty of actual IRL facts about Serling's life that are very interesting. My point remains that I've never heard this particular kind of gossip before this morning. And I've only still heard it from you and some pulpy hack on Wiki. If that's enough for you get all your "hate" on, well okie by me I guess.

I struggle with founding fathers, like Jefferson. I could probably deal with his views on slavery, and how it was not the right time to tackle it. It's his personal owning of slaves and his inability to survive without them because he loved expensive things that gnaws at me.

If he drank less expensive wine and bought a few less books, perhaps he could have afforded to pay his labor.

I like to join people’s threads and rage at them too, especially when I’m too stupid to read the OP and I’m demanding citations already given.

Oh wait, no, I have a life.
That’s you who likes to do that.
Proud day.

Jefferson I'm pretty good with, it's Alexander Hamilton that pisses me off. We just fought a war to remove ourselves from the British Crony Capitalist system and Elitist politicians and Hamilton worked his ass off to inject that shit into our early government.

There was a really good documentary series dealing with important Americans, like Carnegie, Rockefeller, there was one on Heinz. The Henry Ford episode was fascinating.

LOL, raging at your thread. OK sir, rock on. I know that Serling had lots of problems and faults; enough to lay him low at age 50. I don't see IRL evidence that cowardice was one of them.

Hamilton's no hero; but he is an asshole. I'm looking for a hero worthy of hatred, and I'm thinking about it. I don't want to dirty up DB's thread and all. But -- the winning candidate has gotta be a hero first.
