More points than all of the Flames forwards combined. Take that Calberta.

And Cale Makar stepped right into the playoffs like it ain't no thang.

He's the new Charlie McAvoy.

Will be interesting to see what Bednar will do with the defense if Girard comes back. Can't take Makar out, I say bench Nemeth, but then again Nemeth seems to be in Jared Bednar Country Club, so a bit of me is worried he might make the wrong call there. But Girard is obviously so much better than Nemeth I doubt he fucks it up, Country Club or no Country Club.

The Leafs were actually great defensively last night, and Freddie Vezina was in effect.

The Leafs only problem is consistency, or rather lack thereof.

They've shown that if they play a complete game for sixty they can beat anybody.

It's just a question of them accepting that there are no nights off in the playoffs.

Indeed. Actually surprised how well they've defended so far, if they play that well defensively, Freddie Vezina is in effect, and they stop taking nights off, sky is the limit. Still should have traded Kadri for that RHD, to maximize chances of winning, but if they find some consistency, that window is wide open.

Jake Muzzin can get a little spun around in his own zone at times, but what I like is that he will go to war physically and he plays desperate. Desperate hockey wins the Cup.

It's not so much about the defensive depth as it is will they play desperate and keep doing it for 16 games.

Hopefully VGK-SJ goes to seven games, that way whoever ends playing the Avs gets worn down a little more. Would be surprised if VGK choked this series away though, they probably win the series tonight.
