The fundamental problem with Collectivism is "what's best for everybody" can vary widely depending on morals. Theists certainly don't agree with what Identity Politics considers best for everyone. This is the same situation Socialist Germany had with Socialist Russia: Hitler thought the person who knew what was best for everyone was him, and the Communists disagreed.

That was a long read: the gist is that Christianity broke the power of king, and monks created markets, a tenuous connection at best. I'd say guns had more of an impact. Guns increased the individual's Right of Violence to the point that society had to make a deal with them.
