Honestly, it would be wonderful if you were right about this pirate utopia, but it all sounds a little like we haven't ever tried REAL self-organizing, voluntary governance without government.

Like a university socialist club making hay out of some tiny society on an island somewhere that didn't have a word for property, or some other shit, arguing that this is proof that even though we haven't tried REAL socialism at scale they have evidence it might work.

The college socialists rely on the crappy record keeping of their examples to maintain the romance of their ideas too.
The record keeping of pirates and piracy is fairly extensive, not crappy. It covers all manner of grisly shit - such things that would make the scenario you propose look like a walk through the park.

But I understand your resistance to the idea.
And Martin's.
And every fan of Teddy Roosevelt's.

It flies in the face of the core of your belief system, and as such, cannot be permitted to be true.

How did pirates deal with a crew mate who wasn't contributing to the success of the ship, and resisted to the 'unanimous consent' dictated by the needs of the ship.

Surely it happened. These were, after all, the freest people on offer, with a record of dissenting from the dictates of society - being pirates.

Also, I'm not a big fan of Teddy. Seems like a try-hard.

I’m a “try-hard” so be careful with my core belief system or I’ll dispense pirate justice.

To mitigate the free-rider problem, both for ship duties and (more importantly) in combat, pirates used a combination of governance and shared goals. Pirate Constitutions specified punishments for shirking duties (part of the original crew member agreement). They also, as Pirates, had to successfully raid other ships to earn anything at all. Between agreeing to face severe punishment for shirking and knowing that giving less than their full effort could result in them gaining nothing (or dying) - it wasn't a big problem.

Sticks and carrrots, my man. Sticks and carrots.
Sticks - if you shirk your duty or show cowardice in battle you will suffer the severe punishments agreed upon by the crew (and yourself)
Carrots - By giving your all the pirate crew will be more successful, and you will be more wealthy. Also, pirates injured in combat will receive additional disability payments.

Robber society where all the women were prostitutes, and children grew up ignorant of producing anything but death & destruction would seemingly have a short half-life? Especially once the societies that had real governments that produced things got them in the cross-hairs.

I guess we’ll never know how it turned out unless we ask some Somalies.

It's true.
Liberty draws men to the fold ... whether it's sailors escaping the brutality of Merchant Marine vessels or Christian settlers fleeing their restrictive religious hamlets to throw in with the wild and free natives.
BUT ... those organized, centralized, illiberal, collectives always manage to hunt them down, corner them, and exterminate them.
In the pirates case they were pretty much asking for it, by basing their livelihood on stealing from others.
Native Americans just ran out of room to retreat.

I'm not going to argue that anarchist communities can stand in the face of organized collectivists.
Any of China's historical neighbors can tell you that's not the case.

I wonder if there was ever a liberty-nation that had a coercive government that accomplished anything; you know, something big that required intense immense organization like landing a man on the moon. I guess only authoritarian governments like Commies, Fascists & Theists could do that. I’m pretty sure pirates couldn’t.

No, anarchist communities definitely don't squander their resources or exploit their member's labor for silly show-boating stunts like landing on the moon. They tend to use their funds to increase the quality of life for everyone.

If you want real showmanship, like industrializing your entire national agriculture sector in five years, you need a strong centralized government. You know, the kind that doesn't shrink from piling up a few tens of millions of corpses to achieve their goals.

Again - sounds A LOT like government. At least as parasitic as any land-based government, if not more.

The only difference is the size and the time scale - but on a long enough time scale all governance and rules are impermanent. And on a very limited time scale all compliance is voluntary.... until it isn't.

You could say it was a better way to do government, but trying to redefine government so as to exclude pirates just looks like sophistry.

I'm sure lots of terms look like sophistry to people with a limited vocabulary.
Since the difference between governance and government has been covered in this thread multiple times I don't see the point of another repetition.
I'll simply accept that you're incapable of seeing any difference between the two - and are therefore confounded by much of this thread.
