Guys I think it’s time to buy silver. I just bought 40 more oz earlier this week. I just about ready to by 40 more. It’s sitting at 22.58 an oz right now. If you buy APMEX 1oz rounds you’ll pay around $26.60, depending on how much you buy. Real inflation is around 20% and it’s going to get worse next year.
I think you're right. If you are going buy, do it quick. Economy's are starting to crash.

Afghanistan, Lebanon and Turkey. Lebanon's dollar has lost 90% of it's value in the last year, Turkey is seeing 50% inflation and has bread lines.
Famine and conflict will be hitting those areas. Hungry people don't give a fuck. One thing about famine in history, it's because someone, some leaders somewhere, are either making it happen or fine with it happening.

Here's a good run down.

Yup. Keep some cash on hand and silver. It can help you navigate this shit show and give you a better chance at coming out the other end in decent shape.

Good place to buy from. I’ve been using them for years.

Years ago I set a goal of 2-3 months of cash and 2-3 months of silver in the safe. I've gotten to 2 months which I'm happy with. Looking at history and economic collapses there are certain themes that arise.

1. It always takes the mass of people by surprise, the onset is really fast, hours, not days
2. You won't be able to get your money out of the bank.
3. The hardest part of crisis is relatively short, months, not years. Weimar hyperinflation lasted for about 6 hard months
4. Those with even a little resources can weather it well. Well prepared people can take advantage of all kinds of opportunities.
5. All currencies collapse eventually.

My biggest decision is whether to buy an XK120 before the crash or during?

I know, I know: it’s a hard choice but I’m tough.

I guess, I am alone in thinking we are not about to head into collapse.

Here’s my call:

My wife and I bought a house in 1982 with 10% down & 22% interest. Our house payments were a third of our combined net income. We had a kid & another on the way and eventually a 3rd. Nothing going on in the economy made any difference to our quality of life. Same with the 2008 crash.

This one’s set up to be a lot worse but will it affect me or mine? Probably only tangentially. Like I said, I don’t know if I should buy something ridiculously impractical now or during the collapse? The fact is, I don’t think anyone will be affected in a real way: if you lose a lot of savings, so what, by definition you didn’t need that money anyway.

This only applies to people who live conscientious lives: folks out at the extremes may have to reel in their excesses, but even that isn’t clear b/c the concept of accountability is gone. Probably, they get to keep their cake & eat it too. I can only do me.

I saw a "slab of beef" going for $170 up here. I didn't take a photo of it because I was in a rush, but it was on sale from $220.
