It’s so blatantly propagandistic. Everything was sending a message. Probably one of the most watched historical action movie in China and what they expect from an American.
There’s two things that stuck out to me. One is they are sure to make the Japs look as bad as possible. The second was a bit curiouser. They had the scene of the atheist crew member questioning why he had to put chairs out for Sunday worship and seem to say “god damn” and show contempt towards religion.
After writing this I think I may have written this before but am too high to remember.
