My wife's father has terminal cancer

Post by DrYouth » Mon Mar 15, 2021 5:19 pm

She learned this on her 50th Birthday.

She's not in the mood to celebrate.

What a fucking year.

She needs space.

So it's me and the whiskey.

Sorry to hear that.

Listen to Cody Jinks - Must Be the Whiskey

Won’t make you feel any better but it’s a good tune to drink to....obviously.

Really sorry to hear that.

The day before my 50th birthday was the funeral of one of my juggling friends who had died from a heart attack aged 47 while playing table tennis with me at the juggling convention here on the farm.
Around 25 of the jugglers there drove with me from the funeral in Manchester to come to the farm and celebrate my birthday. It was actually a great party and it was nice to have the support system of our friends around us for the weekend.
There was a lot of laughter and an awful lot of alcohol consumed. I think Gary would have approved.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Damn dude ... that's terrible.
I'm sorry for your family, and sorry for the timing.
Here's hoping whiskey helps make right what time cannot.

Hang in there.

Thanks, mate

Sorry about your friend.

We're ok...

Now Cathy isn't so sure.

Her Mom may be getting confused or demented...

Not that would be any better.

Her brothers and sisters are looking into it.

I didn't think it could get worse.
That'll teach me to underestimate anything in the 2020's.

WTF?

He might be fine but her mom might be losing her marbles?
It's like a progressively terrible choose-your-own adventure.

What page has the happy ending?
Gahhhhhdamn!

... I'm just messing, no offense meant. I hope word comes back that gramps is ok, and grandma is confused but ok, and everyone is ok.
Because you're supposed to be celebrating, my man.
50!
That's a happy number.
