November 3rd 2020 was a Doozy.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I was talking to someone over in Ireland today, and they commented that they don't understand why the government in the US doesn't demand that any time prices increase overall (inflation) that our pay doesn't increase with it...

I asked him how would that be enforced...?

There really wasn't a response to it...

That leads me to think, with the pay that congress gives itself each year, what if we had a correlation between the difference between inflation and the actual "increase in pay" average?

So in other words, if inflation is 10%, and the increase of pay was only 4%... congress loses 6% pay...

Side note, I do wonder, why can't we have a limitation of how much a company can increase the cost of things? There really is no reason why wood should be as expensive as it is, as well as many other things. Sooner or later, no one is going to be able to afford to pay to have things made, rebuilt, etc because it would cost too much to do it.

A 20 x 20 deck costs 250% more than it did two years ago to make... that is outrageous.

I'll have a go.

Government bad, regulations bad, free market good.
