I remember as a boy back in the 70's, nobody was on alert for this

there was a pedophile who openly camped out at our school, at the far end of the fields

even as little kids, we knew what he was

I don't know where we heard it from, but somebody said he was a "child molester"

so he would leave candy for us, but we would throw rocks at him

we knew we could throw rocks at him and get away with it, what's he gonna do, call the police ?

There was one near our school too until the parents decided to tell the police. The difference was that it was more of a telling in such a way that either the guy was taken care of by the police, or the parents would take care of him...
