Why can’t we just have one competent candidate on a third party? Seriously.
Because, seriously, if they bragged about their qualifications, you wouldn’t vote for them.

Not based on that alone, no. I’d expect some commitments to end corruption and introduce term limits.

Dude, people who are capable have a list of accomplishments that prove it, and you can expect them to continue with that same good judgment & effectiveness; promises are what Party politicians do.

We might expect a lot of things, but the odds of those expectations being met are slim at best.

I’d want to hear about Stephen Hawking’s platform before voting simply based on his credentials.

Just vote for a Party candidate if you want empty promises.

p.s. I’m way, way more accomplished than Hawkings, and more intelligent. He was more famous though if that’s what you’re looking for.

If you’ve advanced our understanding of the physical makeup of the universe, I was somehow unaware. My apologies.

There is going to be a breaking of the GOP, we are going to have the "Swamp GOP" and the "Trump GOP" The Swampers won't, the Trumpers will.
Sounds like just the split the Dems need to retain power forever.
Keep your half of the voters, while the other half split into quarters.
/Game
There will be people from the DNC that will go to either Republican Party, because of the "split" dropped "the cancer" from the party, but it will be because the Democrats no longer are the party that they once were. That group will be a small minority of people, normally over 40, and have solid jobs. Probably also those who came over to the US legally, and aren't white.

Dude, I ran but you wouldn't have voted for me because I'm a braggart.
