Everyone has to agree on a baseline of rules and regulations for a political system to work. If you have enough people who say, "Lmao, nah." and just do whatever they want without consequences, you don't have a political system any more. We have entered the stage of civilization where the elites within the system find it more expeditious to just ignore the things they don't like, because no one is stopping them. Selective application of the law erodes public trust in the system. No ruling, law, or the US Constitution matters to people who won't be punished for violating them.

There is no judicial or legislative solution to any of this.

Not just the elites - guess how many family gatherings I've skipped, or how many times I've worn a mask outside.

Many of the best “free” internships are actually paid for under the table by the parents. A lot of “jobs” are like that too; especially writing jobs at magazines.
