Do Not Assume A Government's Nationality

The media has been rightly calling out people who refer to this as the Chinese Flu or Wuhan Flu. This goes against international law and parts of the Geneva Convention. The highly venerated WHO has put these guidelines in place to end racism for good.

The problem is, many folks on here make cis-normative assumptions about the Nationality of governments. They assume that a government of a country self identifies as the name of the nationality of that country. For instance, Bjorn "Geert Wilders" p our resident nazi has repeatedly brought up the fact that the Chinese government has made serious diplomatic blunders and has continually lied to the world. He displays so much bias and bigoted assumptions making that statement. Just because the government in charge of the geographic region of China is ruling does not mean that they identify as Chinese. Bjorn lives in Denmark. I wouldn't call his leaders or citizens Danish. They might indeed be self labelling as such, but even then we are assuming that the words they use to describe themselves to us are identical to the definitions of the words that we have heard them say or ourselves presume to even begin to understand that these definitions are words that we can comprehend to empathize with. Just because you live and were born in a place does not mean you identify yourself with the place you were born in. We don't know if the Chinese gov't wants to be identified as Chinese, or if that is a convenient label that colonialists put on China after the Vietnam War. In the future, instead of using outmoded country labels, use geographic coordinates to identify the leaders (another social constructed idea) of the countries that they represent.

Geographic bias is one of the problems we face as global citizens. Let's put a stop to it folks.

I am very sorry. I shall defer to the wisdom of Western, progressive "world citizens", who understand that all non-white people are minorities. And minorities are always oppressed, powerless and racially under-privileged. Jews, Blacks, Normans and most recently, the Chinese. I shall take up my white man's burden, and go forth to tell all the poor, moderately brown people with huge armies and nuclear weapons that I'm so, so sorry about their racial misfortune.
