I had no idea that the PEople's Republic of California had an Anarchist county.

Just fyi, the first 3 or 4 episodes are really good. Humboldt county is pretty gnarly. Dan recommended a book called Smoke and Mirrors by Dan Baum years ago. It is about America's Drug War, and Humboldt County makes quite a few appearances. Outlaw mentality with beautiful scenery to boot. The whole case is weird. But the last couple of eps are somewhat boring to me.


Netflix recently came out with Tiger King, which is spectacular so far. I'm sure you have already had that recommended to you dozens of times by family, coworkers, and friends though. The hype is justified.

I think you would like it dude. It is like a rabbit hole that keeps getting weirder and weirder. Basically, everyone in the exotic animal industry has a checkered past, and is a fucking dirtbag. You cannot immerse yourself in that world and come out clean.

Joe Exotic, despite his numerous flaws, has a funny sense of humor.

And the lady who runs the Cat Rescue place is a total Karen. She reminds me of Hillary. Her mannerisms, superficiality, fake emotions etc. Crazy cat lady final boss.

I wouldn't want to live there, but if folks there are free to leave, then I see no problem. I wouldn't want to be Amish or Orthodox Jew either, but those communities ain't harming me so I'm not gonna bother them either.
