Well check that out, we've been to the same base.
Did my infantry basic training at Fort Knox.
Never got to see the E-club tho.
Just got my ass kicked for eight weeks and then shipped out to AIT.

it's like a dive bar, it's trashy

but the MP's let us go in the end

they said they had a crime problem on the base, and we should just stick to the barracks we were assigned

which were in fact the old barracks, where they filmed the movie Stripes

they weren't bad tho, they had a lot of hot water and high pressure in the showers, surprisingly enough

man, we had some fun down at Fort Knox

they have this amazing MOUT range there

they literally hired Disney to build it

it had special effects, cars that burst into flames, walls that collapsed by remote control

they had a sewer tunnel complex, where they pumped in fake sewer smells

it was all controlled from the water tower, which was actually a control room

they recorded everything by remote cameras, then we watched the video in the AAR's

the Navy SEALs were training there too when we were there, we hung out with them at night

the SEALs were in the transient barracks like us

they were a couple buildings down from us

the Canadian Army was strict, we couldn't really party in the barracks much

so we wander over to talk to these guys, turns out they're the SEALs

they had garbage bags taped over all the windows of their building

they had it sound proofed too

and they were just partying in there, Jim Beam & Natty Light, tunes blaring from the beat box

that was a fun party, they didn't stick to army rules, they were mostly senior rates, they did as they pleased

from the outside of the building you could barely hear anything, they had it stealthed

soon as they opened the door to us tho, wall of sound, Metallica n' shit
