But that's the problem with the Blue Church. It's not just all this whacky social justice stuff. It's fundamentally the idea of the worship of the centralized state, propped up by global capitalism, and led by a managerial elite who serve as the priestly class.

Have you noticed how one of them will retort to an argument with a quote from some state or corporate media apparatus as the default authority? As if quoting the BBC is like quoting a Papal encyclical to shut down argument to the contrary.

How do people who adhere to something like this act locally when literally even their facts and worldview are fed to them by a centralized, globalist power structure?

And another thing..

It's not even left versus right, or democrat versus republican. Lots of people across the board adhere to this beast without professing it. John McCain, for instance.

The communist managerial class in China are part of it. The Harvard managerial class of America are part of it. It subsumes capitalism, socialism, and communism alike.

Then you have Pope Francis who is perhaps a chief promulgator of the religion while ostensibly leading 1.5 billion Catholics in a Christian Church that is supposed to be opposed to a worldly religion like the Blue Church. But you are talking about a memetic religion that convinces people it doesn't exist. It's perfectly plausible for a Pope and any other religious figure to adhere to it and still profess some other religion.

Think about how powerful this is.

We argue about all this peripheral ideological shit, but really we are dealing with a kind of religion that is extremely widespread around the world and can perfectly adapt itself to various national ideologies and religions. And we can't just wrap our minds around how holistic and pervasive it is because it is so difficult to pin down something that uses various sciences, economic systems, and religions as cover. By trying to counter socialism, cultural Marxism, or globalism, we are falling into the trap of attacking these fronts for something that is much deeper than those and much more pervasive.

Well said. I've never thought of it in those terms before.

It really hit me when I watched a Thunderfoot video on the absurdity of this minimization of the threat of the pandemic. How in the fuck am I on the same side as this guy? It's not just science backgrounds and rationality or any of that intellectual masturbation. It's just the fact that we both oppose this religion. In his case, he just hates religious thinking in general and spots it from a mile away. But it's definitely a religion. You literally have people scoffing at the idea of buying a few masks to protect themselves in a public display of devotion of the wisdom of the priestly managerial class.

Think about how fucking absurd these people are. They aren't going to get a mask or prepare for anything because they don't want to look like they are afraid of the pandemic because the central managers said they have it under control. But the made-up shit, like the most batshit global warming predictions, the managerial class approves of panic, so these same people complain endlessly about how the Earth is dying in twenty years.

I mean.. you could make rational arguments against fucking with the Earth's atmosphere without the propaganda. We don't do that because the religious narrative has to be universal and even rational arguments against dumping chemicals into the atmosphere at these levels are considered a heretical threat. There's actually good positions to take, like Taleb and Dyson take, but it has to be total denial or the Blue Church dogma at this point.

Even there.. think about how powerful this meme is that forces you to take irrational positions to oppose it. I guarantee you they would go much further out of their way to stop Dyson or Taleb from talking about this if those ideas began to get traction than the most die-hard denialist.

I've been seeing the narrative online that the MSM is attempting to downplay Coronavirus, but I haven't noticed them exercising restraint. If anything, I've been noticing the skyrocketing death tolls from China and the WHO telling everyone it's getting "much worse."

"The flu is worse than coronavirus" is the one I hate most of all.

https://news.google.com/search?q=China% ... id=US%3Aen

"China should be commended for their handing of the epidemic"

https://news.google.com/search?q=corona ... id=US%3Aen

"Epidemic is tapering off"

https://news.google.com/search?q=masks% ... id=US%3Aen

"Masks won't help you fight coronavirus and you really should leave them for the authorities who need them most" <-- my second favorite.

Just off the top of my head of bullshit.

It occurred to me today..

Apropos to the problem of fragility and the centralization of the globalist economy.. I was talking with somebody this morning about the problem of centralization and how it necessarily is synonymous with fragility since, in order to centralize, you need to create dependencies and fragilities downstream from the social level you are trying to centralize. For instance, to centralize the American federal government, as we have been doing since the 1790s, we have to erode state power, and state governments have to erode local power. Ultimately you have to erode the power of the family to protect itself, and even the individual from making actionable plans for various contingencies.

Then it struck me that the most arrogant people characterizing buying a few masks and maybe a bit of dry food in case of pandemic as "hysteria" and "fear" are typically globalists themselves. They are virtue signaling, in a sense, their devotion to a kind of religion by not preparing for a very likely pandemic event. It's like an act of faith in the centralized authorities to take care of them when the time comes. If you prepare, it is like saying you don't believe in the Blue Church's destiny (i.e. the "arc of history").

Some people have characterized this globalist, progressive religion as the so-called Blue Church. If you don't support all the weird dogma of the Blue Church, then you must be socially punished. You even have nations like Canada with Orwellian "human rights tribunals" that act as a kind of Inquisition for the Blue Church, punishing and even imprisoning the heretics.

In the original Dawkinsian sense of the concept of a meme, how much is this centralization meme actually a kind of religion, with the understanding that all religions are really the most powerful memes in history? I hate to pick on Monte in this way (no offense, bud), but if you look at the way this guy takes at face value, completely credulously, the dictates of the managerial class, including the scientist "experts" who rule by a "consensus", where consensus implies blacklists and punishments for nonbelievers in the Blue Church, it really does appear to be an almost medievalist belief system we are dealing with here. But oddly, unlikely the medieval belief system of our previous medieval civilization, this new belief system propagates fragility and decay rather than anti-fragility and growth.

This belief system isn't really about science, because they reject science that does not comport to their belief system, and they inject inordinate pseudo-science into various fields to support their belief system by building their "consensus".

This belief system isn't really about progress and building a stronger society because we can all damned well see the now imminent risks of having centralized the production of antivirals and antibiotics in China. We can all see this top-down, centralized management of the epidemic response by the managerial class to be failing spectacularly.

Could we suffer a hundred million fatalities and these people still will refuse to accept that they were wrong simply because we are really dealing with a kind of religion that is so powerful it convinces it's adherents they don't even belong to a religion? It occurs to me that the Blue Church, if it exists, is the most powerful religion in human history, and the most clever insofar as it convinces it's believers that they don't belong to any religion and, indeed, are "anti-religionists". Really think about how powerful that is. Imagine if instead of covid-19, we got something with a 50% mortality rate that exploded onto the world stage because centralized governments cannot bear to shut down trade and travel lest their hyper-fragile global economic system collapse and they lose power. The Blue Church, just by virtue of convincing its adherents of blind faith in the managerial class as the new priesthood, will have done nothing to protect themselves and their families in the face of a pandemic. It's the same fucking thing that happened in the Black Death, when people thought they could just pray the disease away. Until it didn't.

Maybe this is a wake-up call for the rest of us to start radicalizing adherents of this religion against it. It's difficult to even wrap your mind around this Blue Church because it actively hides itself from everybody. When you challenge it, they make it sound like you are challenging "science". When you point out the corporate news is lying to them, they accuse you of propagating "fake news". We have seen this kind of thinking before in the medieval period and it's much, much worse now because there is no identifiable hierarchy behind it.
First of all, thanks for the ''e''. I appreciate the gesture.
However, get stuffed.
When someone who believes in an actual religion with nothing but faith to prove the existence of their God turns around and tries to discredit a science with real evidence by calling it a religion the irony is palpable.
To then lecture about taking the word of a ''central power'' at face value, despite willing adherence to the word of Rome, is staggering.
No offence bud.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Yup.

I mean, I am dating again, but I am broken hearted.

Sorry to hear that. I was genuinely happy for you when you thought you had met ''the one''.
