The nation has outgrown the constitution. A republic such as ours requires a citizenry 100x more civically minded than the avg American.
We gave it a good go. The conditions created in settling/conquering a continent produced some Amazing individuals and good times. We've been overrun however. A system as complicated as ours is easily corruptible and as each generation feels less obliged to this great nation the more corrupted it becomes.
There's no stopping it now. Here's to hoping we end up in the same regional republic after the fall.

It's been corrupted since the Continental Congress convened.
People are just so emotionally invested in the myth that they don't want to see that it's just a slightly less hot dumpster fire than the French Revolution.
