The Angels are only .500 right now but watching Trout, Ohtani, and Puljos setting new records every time he steps on the field right now makes them an exciting team to watch

Ohtani hit for the cycle last week and Trout was a triple short this week, and Trout showed what kind of guy he is by hitting a situational single instead of attempting to crank that triple in his last at bat

Looking forward to seeing Albert back in Busch. :goteam:

damn, three games in a row, three separate dodger rookies have hit walk off home runs to win the game. apparently even two rookies doing this in back to back games has never happened in MLB history, crazy. crowd went apeshit today when smith hit the dinger to win it

Is that a first? Can't believe it doesnt happen more often. And that is textbook right there 9th inning, 2 outs, up two runs, that runner at 2nd or 3rd is meaningless. But that stealing signs is useless, I know what this guys throws and his tendencies before I step in the box, if you want to help tell me where the catcher wants it.

Some random stats I found interesting:
- League-wide BA is up to .250 from .243 last year. That is good news, but we still have more Ks than hits.
- Attendance is down about 2% so far this year. This is after a drop of 4% last year.
- Rookie Pete Alonzo of the already broke Daryl Strawberry's Mets rookie HR record and it's still June.

The more K than hit equation is a result of sabermetrics or whatever they're calling it nowadays. Stats geeks figured out that going for deep hits has a better probability of producing runs than your standard, old school NL small ball. This caused the batters to adjust their swings to have more of an uppercut than straight at the ball. This causes them to miss more pitches and therefore ultimately result in Ks

Yeah, I have been well aware of the launch angle phase that has been in place recently. Maybe it results in more runs, maybe not, I haven't dug into that. I do know that it makes the game harder to enjoy.
