China is a shit show and is going to do what China does unless we exterminate them (Which is not going to happen, so fucking give it a rest already).

Most of the deaths in America would have been preventable had we locked down the borders and travel early on when it was obvious how dangerous this bug was. The government and media are using China as an excuse to redirect anger away from them towards something no Americans can do anything about.

The trouble with that is that just about everyone was freaking out about people being welded into their apartments by the totalitarian regime in China.
There was no way that people would have accepted that level of government interference back in January with very few cases outside of China at the time.
Some people still aren't accepting it now even with people they actually know dying of this disease.

It's an ongoing situation, the information is changing all the time. Some leaders have been quicker than others to recognise the seriousness of this pandemic. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but there's not much point in pondering how much better off we'd be now if we'd done something back in early January if it was impossible to have done it then.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Doing what China did would just make things worse, but the knee jerk pro-government crowd wants to do it anyway, because more government is always the solution to anything they don't a clue how to fix.

To be honest, I'm more pissed off at the idiots who sent their kids on skiing holidays to Italy at the end of February than China or the UK government.
That was a month after the airlines had stopped flights from China and when the first reports of cases appearing in northern Italy were widely known.
Those fuckers weighed up the cost of a non-refundable holiday against the risk of bringing the virus back to the UK and still sent their kids.

You're the one still advocating the policies that our governments got so badly wrong in the first place.
Go on, parrot their ''the cure is worse than the disease'' bullshit once more. I'm sure someone will listen to you this time...

Strawman Capps is easy to beat in an argument, Actual Capps is a very different story.

It’s a tough call I admit - I’m inclined to quarantine bc company who made ebola treatment claims to have something that is showing good promise....also, like StA said - we already have something that seems to work and it most likely is case officials are purposefully not hyping it bc they know there’s not enough to go around yet.

One thing I know - China needs to be isolated by West. Collapse the PRC.

The cure is worse than the disease, in many cases. Not in South Korea's case, but instead of following their lead, some morons only want to follow the lead of the nations who handled it the worst, didn't cure the disease, and piled on economic damage on top of it.

Still waiting for you to tell us how to follow their lead without the testing capacity required.

There are other things they did that were effective, follow that, until you get the testing capacity, don't follow the shittiest models because you lack the imagination to learn anything from an example where the economy wasn't destroyed via counter-productive central planning.
