What are the qualifying parameters? Jordan Peterson has certainly influenced, and expanded upon his existing influence among, alot of people this year. Though I suspect his influence mostly restricted to the Anglophone countries, and countries like Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries. Does the title imply "goodness" of any sort? I never read a TIME magazine, but I know they nominate a "Person of the Year", yet IIRC Hitler was one such at one point. From that perspective that Saudi crown prince probably has alot of influence.

"Person of the Year (called Man of the Year or Woman of the Year until 1999) is an annual issue of the United States news magazine Time that features and profiles a person, a group, an idea, or an object that "for better or for worse... has done the most to influence the events of the year".

Here is an idea. Asia Argento, a leader of the #metoo movement with a connection to it triumphs and excesses also a connection to one of the biggest celebrity deaths.

I like that.

The world is focused on Trump, he's the only real choice, but they won't pick him because they won't admit that.
