Let me just say, I hope France collapses and leaves the EU, but that won't happen sadly. But more to the point, I have a lot of trouble supporting these types of movements in foreign countries, because even though we are reading stuff online, these mass protests are never monolithic. There are never a single group with an identical idea. In the Arab Spring, there were leftists, even communists, that allied with the koran thumpers. The same thing happened in the Iranian revolution. They had a common goal before the revolution (to get rid of the leader), but after the fact, it led to one group winning power and then destroying the other group. Morsi won for awhile after the Arab spring until the coup, and the leftists got driven out, which also happened in Iran. Be very careful supporting foreign activists, because they are not who you think they are.

Also, many times these foreigners will attempt to gain sympathy from other countries and Americans. In Tahrir Square, the protestors held up signs saying: "We Love America! We are your friends!" It turns out many of them couldn't even speak English and they were just manipulating us. Remember Libya? This makes me very leery of any mass movement I see on tv, especially a Middle Eastern one which is filled to the brim with rapists, and terrorists who would slit your throat if you ever visited their sewer country.

Is Macron a lowlife and a coward? Yes. Should France leave the EU and hopefully crash its economy? Yes. Do I hope this unrest spreads to other Euro countries and causes an economic collapse their. More than anything. But I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm glad the French govt is having a hard time, but they will take the wrong message from this if anything.

There are far left and far right elements both in the movement.

And if they actually manage to take any sort of power, they will brutally fight each other with the outcome being uncertain. You could end up with a government and new status quo that is abhorrent. Don't get me wrong, I hate France, and those snobby beret wearing commie faggots have generally talked down to Americans for years, so I am glad their country is getting torn up and I hope that this is ruining their holiday season.
I just don't know enough about what's going on to be completely supportive of the vests. Its like in Occupy how the media reports one thing, but then it turns out there are communists, and black bloc anarchists in the mix too, with undercover govt agents as well. I imagine the chaos is similar in France.

You realise that Europe's economy collapsing is going to affect you, don't you?
I know you are intimidated by Europe, what with its culture and stuff, but to actively wish for its collapse without understanding the consequences to yourself is kinda dumb (or American as we say ;) ) don't ya think?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

The Founders went through a similar scenario....but this one hasn't even gotten close to the level of Mayhem of the 1790's.

I have faith that there are enough non-Marxits in France to defeat the left.

Sometimes, you just have to roll the dice.

I don't care. I'm poor anyway, and probably will be for the forseeable future. You can't threaten me over there on your little sharia island Monte. The EU is a pipe dream. They can't even stop their own members from hating it and wanting to leave, much less a nobody like me in another country. You guys certainly used to have culture. Now its just a big migrant slum.

You guys really don't get it, do you?
The outcome of Macron stepping down is a return to France's socialist policies.
Macron, love him or hate him, is trying to modernise France's economy. He is doing what Thatcher did in the UK 40 years ago.
The protesters are calling for a reduction in taxes and an increase in public spending. How does that work?
Macron has taken away union powers and workers rights, cut government spending and supported big business.

Tell me, which of your other RW principles are you prepared to abandon in the name of destroying the bogeyman of ''Globalisation''?

Oh yeah, who do you think were the champions of globalisation back in the 80's.
Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
The milk snatcher herself famously said of globalisation,
There is no alternative
I'm baffled. Here I am urging you all to stop supporting a return to socialism and there you are cheering on street violence to oust France's Thatcher.

I will declare a vested interest. My little shack in rural France is now worth a third of what it was when my father was alive and I'd like to arrest that fall.
Plus, despite all the banter, I like the French and don't want to see their country go any further down the shitter.

I wish Smitty was still here. For many reasons, but mainly because he would be ranting on about fetching the rope for these filthy bolsheviks.

Yes. Canadian men do like their purses (not joking).
