According to the RT documentary "Substitutes," industry insiders say that around 2,000 life-like sex dolls - with adjustable fingers, removable head and customizable genitals are sold annually in Japan. Assuming costs come down and the Japanese workforce continues to put in 14-hour days, there could be tens of thousands of sex dolls floating around the island nation within a decade. Today, more than 50 years later, Japan's fertility rate sits at 1.41, the population is falling, and brutally long work hours remain the norm.

I think the trend will reverse sometime in the 2050s. The maladapted women will eventually just die of old age, childless, since they killed their own children or never had any so that they could pretend to be men. It will go back to natural gender relations eventually.

We just pulled the short straw and were born in the most degenerate times since the collapse of the Roman empire. Not much you can do about that.

I have half a mind to just encourage them to destroy themselves at this point. I really do think quite a lot of this phenomenon is maladapted genetics. Until the 1960s, maladapted women really had fuck all options to shit up their lives and the rest of society. Everybody wanted to have sex and babies were the consequence of that. Divorce laws required cause, and fuck no you didn't get to enslave the aggrieved party much less steal the children when you are the fuck up. Murdering babies was illegal, so once a woman got pregnant she had to deliver it. There was no massive gibs system for single mothers trashing society either. Single mothers were correctly seen as a cancer on society and shunned. So adoption was a thing whereas now there are so few babies to adopt the gays are trying to force nuns to hand over Catholic babies to their fucked up relationships.

We just hit the point politically and technologically where these maladapted genes could actually be expressed. Now we have to wait for these people to weed themselves out of the gene pool. Meanwhile, we are basically fucked because they likely will burn down civilization in the process.

I've been reading up on the Shogunite and later Meiji Restoration lately, partly b/c of DCs Supernova episode and partly b/c I've always liked Japanese culture. Its really interesting how they've really tried to insulate their homeland from outside economic/cultural influences and the ways in which they tried and sometimes succeeded are fascinating. The blending of their tradition with Western technology and engineering is crazy really. Its like they tried to hold on to that which they valued (which I understand and even admire) but knew they had to change their economic and industrial base to compete with the West so as not to be dominated like the rest of the world. Tragic in a lot of ways really. There was no real good answer for them or "right" way. Dan commented something along the lines of, Japan sometimes even exaggerated and mythologized aspects of their own history and culture while trying to maintain it. Like we romanticize or can the feudal knights and courtly love etc.
