That no one ever makes this point is surprising to me.

America is enabling people to flee failing cultures instead of forcing them to fix them, which in the long term will lead to further destabilization both North and South of the border.

I've also mentioned it several times. Consider a country that barely gets by: it scrapes enough up to teach its best & brightest medicine and engineering, then first thing, those HUGE investments emigrate. Like clockwork. Self-interested Capitalism's obvious downside that Libertarians ignore.

Consider Venezuela, I know someone with a doctorate in agriculture and who has a wife that is a trained nurse who have left their homeland for good due to the instability there.

They are even from the ruling class and are not willing to go back.

How many PHDs in agriculture you reckon that country has?

How much more difficult will it be fixing that nation when anyone with talent is looking for the first train north?

It doesn't raise our average IQ.

Our average IQ is plummeting due to mass migration from Latin America and Africa.

The average IQ in subsaharan Africa is in the upper 60s. We have no benefit from immigration from there, and we condemn the region to dysfunction and stagnation in the process.

It's a good point....but goes against the GOP and DNC's agenda of bringing cheap labor/votes.
