Why are you conservative, why are you liberal, why are you independent?
Mostly we attack each other, one could say this is not civil discourse and they'd be correct. I personally want to stop for a moment and inquire towards other forum member's intent.
Why do you personally believe what you do? I can only really get your intent, if you tell me your intent. I could guess at it all day through my own lens but that might provide something rather biased and not tell things from your perspective.
What do you believe, and why do you believe it? What are you trying to do? Why are you trying to do that?
What do you want?
Thank you for all of your responses.
(I'll post my beliefs later on, so as not to taint the initial discussion.)

All of the above.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

My political ideology is most closely represented by Classic Liberalism. Because the guys in Tri Corn Hats gave us a nation with a good deal of Liberty. Not perfect, just better than everything else going.

There is really no party that cares about the issues that are most important to me.
-Limited government
-More local control
-Spending under control
-Preserve and protect the constitution
-Stop being the world's policeman - bring all the troops home
-The MIC must be cut back/wayyyy back
-The TSA and NSA must be destroyed
-Audit the fed
Other than that, I support the right on several issues; like guns, illegal immigration, voter ID laws. I support the left on issues like woman having control over their bodies and keeping the government out of my bedroom and not legislating based on religious law.
I find the right, in general, have historically been the assholes and the left was all the pussies. The left's current level of anger though is truly disheartening.
This is very high level - for the most part, I think both parties are exactly the same and only use the wedge issues to keep the masses convinced that the other party is nothing but evil, anti-American idiots.

Re: Why are you conservative, why are you liberal, why are you independent?
Conservatism is just liberalism applied to economics. On social and moral matters, they are like the shadow of progressives. Today's conservatives fight to conserve what was considered extreme degeneracy only decades ago.
Progressives apply liberalism to social and moral matters. They want to destroy our civilization. This is why I attack you, trying to shake some sense into you before it is too late.
Independents are political bisexuals. They don't choose sides because they are play-acting as some form of sober middle ground. They are a joke too.
Libertarians are the ultimate liberals, wanting to liberalize economics, social, and moral behavior. Cancer.
Marxists are at least honest about what they are, but they openly and honestly wish to destroy our civilization in order to create their utopia. Enemies. No quarter.
Alt-right get sidetracked with their anti-Semitism and racial superiority issues. Their national socialist ideas I think only make sense if the Marxists take over the government and we need to fight back in the spirit of the Spanish civil war.
Look more towards reactionary thinkers, but also distributists. But do not get bogged down so much by ideological purity.
