Proposal Would Narrow Expansion of Seattle Homeless Response

SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle City Council has moved to reduce a proposed expansion of the city's team responsible for overseeing removal of homeless encampments, redirecting the money to wage increases for homeless service workers.

The Seattle Times reports the 6-3 vote was a preliminary action, with the final budget set for adoption Monday. But the proposal, sponsored by Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, sparked debate among council members and protests from business and neighborhood groups who want a more vigorous response to the city's estimated 400 unsanctioned tent camps...

The next thing you know you are destroying your own downtown in riots, bringing homeless, and wondering where all the Liberty and economic benefits went. Once they have harvested all the wealth they can out of an area, they leave it as a wrecked, perpetually voted Blue war zone, like they did to Detroit. Then they move on to new colonies. Did it to Denver and Colorado, working on Austin and Texas right now.

Yes, they have monetized and industrialized homelessness and illegal immigration. There is a marriage of government and private industry growing budgets and getting paid with your tax dollars to make it possible for you to step in human shit while walking down the street.

It's getting bad. The most loony liberal I know personally lives in San Diego, right across the street from a huge homeless tent camp, that wasn't there when they bought the house. They are moving, because conditions are horrible.

They get their fence busted daily, so these people can steal their garbage cans for carrying stuff around, so they can bathe using their garden hose, and a variety of other reasons. Her husband is head of the HOA, so calls in regularly. The police do not care. Once you say homeless, they transfer him to the non-police homeless task force. They are literally ignoring the problem.

She tells me that these people have jobs and instead of spending for an apartment, they have storage units where they store their clean clothes, toiletries and there possessions, like tvs, couches & stuff, should they ever decide to go back on the grid.

They start fires almost daily and across the street smells like poo.

Even some nutty liberals are starting to re-think things.

"Starting to re-think things" - yeah, so their answer is not to do anything to fix the problem, but rather to move somewhere else... where they'll bring their liberal ideas and start voting for free needles and human shit patrols (paid by taxes of course) to attract homeless people to the new 'paradise' they've found that they can turn to crap in another decade or two. At which point they'll again move... still never reflecting on what they approved if that allowed it all to happen in the first place.

Maybe they should try thinking first, rather than re-thinking after the fact?
