They have to publish the next world-ending event story before people realize the last one never panned out. Yesterday, he thought the stock market would crash because of a new cryptocurrency. Stock market goes up, so ZOMG pictures of tanks in Jordan!!

The harbinger of war is not actually tanks, it's trucks, if there was going to be a major escalation with mechanized forces, the sign would be a huge logistics tail moving into the place.

The debacle called the US policy towards the Syrian civil war is logical consequence of a mismanaged and failed overall policy in the Middle East. From the time of CENTO, the US grasp has been failing: first the US had the Baghdad Pact, then it had twin pillars, the dual containment. The it went of the rails with the invasion of Iraq in 2003 altogether. Now the US is totally clueless. What better way to demonstrate this was By giving the Middle East policy to Jared Kushner.

Seldom if ever has the situation been FUBAR as with Syria. Only perhaps Libya comes close to this.

When you have your "allies" fighting each other and some making totally their own policies with the other side (as Turkey has done), the US simply isn't in control at all.
