President Delivers - US Sovereignty > Globalist Opinion

U.S. quits talks on global migration pact over sovereignty clash

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United States has quit negotiations on a voluntary pact to deal with migration because the global approach to the issue was “simply not compatible with U.S. sovereignty,” said U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

In a statement released late on Saturday, the U.S. mission to the U.N. noted that President Donald Trump made the decision.

“No country has done more than the United States, and our generosity will continue,” said Haley, whose parents are immigrants from India. “But our decisions on immigration policies must always be made by Americans and Americans alone.”

“We will decide how best to control our borders and who will be allowed to enter our country,” she said. . . .

On rare occasion the president delivers some value beyond keeping the SJW progressives in a constant state of frenzy. This is one of those times. Go get 'em, Donald and Nikki. Tell them what's up. Guarantee the forefathers never foresaw the day when stating that America remains in control of its own immigration policy would be a radical position. I'm still surprised it's a radical position. Yet somehow we've come to this place where the fact that America has the right to determine its own policies and destiny needs to be aired in a global forum. I guess it's not self evident to a bunch of self-important rejects from second rate nations.

I should mention this move *also* managed to keep the SJW progressives in a frenzy.
From the same article:
Haley’s predecessor Samantha Power mocked the U.S. move.

“How to further insult your Mexican neighbor, turn your back on humanity’s most desperate, and make America irrelevant on a hugely destabilizing global crisis in one easy step,”
she posted on Twitter.
So remember this, as the media, democrats, and Hollywood continue their relentless onslaught against the current administration. Americans elected people who stand up at the UN and say "The fuck you'll tell us how to handle immigration in our own country". We kicked out the folks who are still playing the same ol' "Americas the WORST, way to hate 'the browns' and destabilize the world" bullshit.

Something to bring you all a little holiday cheer.
Assuming you like Americans and American holidays.

Well, a broken clock is right twice a day. Fixing our immigration debacle is one thing I agree with him on. I still don't support a wall.

Good move. I've no interest in giving up US sovereignty.

What if the term "wall" is just a visual anchor for increased border security in general? Did you ever think of that?

I'd settle for a mile-wide minefield stretching across the entire border. Sends a better message.

Ideally: A giant fucking wall with a moat and a mile-wide minefield on the other side, patrolled by predator drones.

Not as powerful a visual for the rubes as a wall.

Which immigration policy sells better among the electorate? Hence why Trump went with "wall" over "minefield". The visual of a big beautiful border wall trumps the visual induced by a border plan with a ton of nuance, hence why he was light on the details, and focused on a visual image that would stick in people's minds and enforce his brand as tough on immigration. Policy wonkery doesn't sell, visual anchors do.

Seeing as how he's having numerous physical wall prototypes built, I don't think he means what you think he means. You are the self-proclaimed Trump whisperer, though.
