All citizens will now recite the designated words of Freedom. Failure to stand and comply will result in legal action...
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Oh did they change the words again? Aren't they on thier third or fourth iteration? I think Quebec still gets to use the old lines and iirc some of those lines are based AF.

The Law Society is not the government, it's a self governing association, the members vote for their own rules, so what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

Those snowflake members are wack, then.
Though they've certainly picked the right country to practice their soft totalitarianism in, eh?

Canada.
Land ruled by ten thousand snowflakes.

There's a bumper sticker in there somewhere.

Well, totalitarian is a state government issue, the Government of Canada may not be able to compel speech, that would be unconstitutional, but a professional association is not the government, and you don't have a right to be a lawyer, nor to be a member of their association, and they can compel speech just like any other employer can compel speech, and if you don't comply, they can fire you, just like any other job, thus; what's the big whoop?

You work for me, I tell you I want you to write up a statement and I want it to say the following, and you say "no I'm not doing that, that's totalitarianism, maaaan!"

OK, you're fired, pack up your office, and get out by the end of the day, this ain't the government, so fuck outta here, you clown.

Whose the snowflake? Yeah I think it's you actually.

Do you have to be a member of The Law Society to practice law in Canada?

You'd be confused then, because my government protects people against compelled speech.
But then again, my government was also founded by men strong enough to escape the shackles of a bunch of Tea swilling British twits, so we're coming at the problem from completely different starting places I s'pose.

No, you're the one who is confused, because your government only protects you from compelled testimony in court, it doesn't protect you from being compelled by your employer to speak, on pain of being fired.
