Russian "Agent" Buys BLM Ads On Facebook for Race War ed.
Seems thread worthy on its own because a number of references can be made from it.
First, the reported story...
The batch of more than 3,000 Russian-bought ads that Facebook is preparing to turn over to Congress shows a deep understanding of social divides in American society, with some ads promoting African American rights groups, including Black Lives Matter, and others suggesting that these same groups pose a rising political threat, say people familiar with the covert influence campaign...
The company said it has identified at least $100,000 in ads purchased through 470 phony Facebook pages and accounts. Facebook said this spending represented a tiny fraction of the political advertising on the platform during the 2016 campaign...
Facebook declined to comment on the contents of the ads being turned over to congressional investigators and pointed to a Sept. 6 statement by Alex Stamos, the company’s chief security officer, who noted that the vast majority of the ads run by the 470 pages and accounts did not specifically reference the U.S. presidential election, voting or any particular candidate...
Watts, the Foreign Policy Research Institute fellow, said he has not seen the Facebook ads promised to Congress, but he and his team saw similar tactics playing out on Twitter and other platforms during the campaign.
Watts said such efforts were most likely to have been effective in Midwestern swing states such as Wisconsin and Michigan, where Democratic primary rival Sen. Bernie Sanders had beaten Clinton. Watts said the disinformation pushed by the Russians included messages designed to reinforce the idea that Sanders had been mistreated by the Democratic Party and that his supporters shouldn’t bother to vote during the general election in November.
“They were designed around hitting these fracture points, so they could see how they resonate and assess their effectiveness,” Watts said. “I call it reconnaissance by social media.”
So the Russia Collusion now centers around a $100k in social media ad buys which "the vast majority of the ads run by the 470 pages and accounts did not specifically reference the U.S. presidential election".
The narrative has now switched to who was behind the targeting of theses ad buys? My guess is Kushner will be linked in some way.
These facts have been known since the Russia investigation started. It was the first few Trump-Russia headlines...
Soon the data operation dictated every campaign decision: travel, fundraising, advertising, rally locations--even the topics of the speeches. "He put all the different pieces together," Parscale says. "And what's funny is the outside world was so obsessed about this little piece or that, they didn't pick up that it was all being orchestrated so well."
For fundraising they turned to machine learning, installing digital marketing companies on a trading floor to make them compete for business. Ineffective ads were killed in minutes, while successful ones scaled. The campaign was sending more than 100,000 uniquely tweaked ads to targeted voters each day. In the end, the richest person ever elected president, whose fundraising effort was rightly ridiculed at the beginning of the year, raised more than $250 million in four months--mostly from small donors.
As the election barreled toward its finale, Kushner's system, with its high margins and up-to-the-minute voter data, provided both ample cash and the insight on where to spend it. When the campaign registered the fact that momentum in Michigan and Pennsylvania was turning Trump's way, Kushner unleashed tailored TV ads, last-minute rallies and thousands of volunteers to knock on doors and make phone calls.

So we know for a fact, at least according to Jared and the Trump Campaign, Jared had amounted and analyzed huge amounts of data and knew where to target. We also know voter surppression was reported as being a tactic under use as early as 10/30/2016

As much as 45% of Trump’s campaign budget in a given month is devoted to digital outreach and research. Among other things, that pays for about $100,000 a week spent on voter surveys, whose results Bloomberg reports echo those of public polls. Trump’s digital team has also identified 13.5 million “persuadable” voters in 16 battleground states, generated 100,000 different online ads, and built a model for identifying must-win battleground states, with Florida at the top.
But a large part of the team’s strategy now mirrors the negative slant of the larger Trump campaign. In the words of an unnamed senior official quoted by Bloomberg, they’re running “three major voter suppression operations,” aimed at lowering turnout among liberals, young women, and black voters.
The tactics of those initiatives include sharing Hillary Clinton’s 1996 “super predator” comments with black voters via Facebook,
and sending residents of Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood critical messaging about the Clinton Foundation’s efforts in Haiti.
According to the same official, such tactics “will dramatically affect [Clinton's] ability to turn these people out.”

So, did Jared have a Russian associate offer to help buy some ads for the most cash strapped presidential campaign in history? My guess is yes. Did Jared accept such help? My guess is yes. Did Jared instruct him on what ads to run and where? My guess is yes. Has the CIA known about this the entire time and have created a narrative which only needs the smallest confirmation for most people to believe the whole thing? No. They tried, but failed. Like they did with Trump with the accusations of sexism and sexual harassment leading up to the Hollywood Access tape. They overstate the true story, provide a hint of evidence in an attempt to confirm the false narrative, then bought out the accusers who have since totally disappeared.
All the "shoes to drop" have been known about since November 4th 2016 and before. Just like any standard disinformation operation they leak out misleading details to prolong the narrative and negative press with hopes to be able to appoint a Special Prosecutor in a last effort attempt to remove Trump.

The reason FB won't disclose all details behind ad buyers and foreign accounts...
Clinton Lawyer Helped Facebook Avoid Political Ad Disclosures
However, in yet another delicious irony tied to the “Russian collusion” narrative, CNN has reported that the top lawyer for the Hillary Clinton campaign had represented Facebook back in 2011 when it petitioned the FEC to grant it a waiver from federal elections laws requiring advertisers to disclose who purchased the ads.

Voter suppression my ass, when Democrats do it they call it opposition research or genius. Anyone who calls it voter suppression is a hack like GCF.But a large part of the team’s strategy now mirrors the negative slant of the larger Trump campaign. RT launched in 2005, Sputnik in 2014. The Duma spends roughly 423 mil. $ a year on its foreign language media services. Conspiracy theories aimed at government, and incitements to rile up Americans against each other, are obviously in the Kremlin's best interest. They're simply copying succesful past US propaganda policy themselves. In the Soviet years, their propaganda services only served a narrow ideological interest, and could only reach a tiny minority of pre-disposed towards leftist radicalism-minority. The intent is to try and make the US as un-governable as possible, to create internal strife so that the US is less capable of handling external strife.
But again... RT launched in 2005, Sputnik in 2014. And yet, "for some reason" Russian interference and influence in US politics and domestic opinion, didn't become an issue - politically or in the media - untill it affected Hillary Clinton's campaign.

That's the heart of the whole issue. Its the establishment refusing to blame themselves nearly a year laterBjornP wrote:RT launched in 2005, Sputnik in 2014. Won’t catch me whining about Facebook ads overturning the democratic process. The Putin subreddit was responsible for that Mexican Earthquake I heard. This guy needs to be stopped at all costs! Whats next, a tumblr account with a Russian ip address? Most World events are heavily swayed by social media accounts. Its just something reasonable people pay attention to.
