Not even close. Fewer than 100 deaths in a decade in the UK.
Fewer than one guy in a Las Vegas hotel.
You do not understand statistics, then. Look up normalization.
Even allowing for population size the risk is far smaller.
250 or thereabouts incidents of mass shootings this year alone versus zero Islamic terrorist acts in the UK.
The New IRA has been more active than any Muslim terrorists.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I really doubt it Monty. I am at the gym, but I am sure you can do the math yourself. Our population is comparable to that of all of Europe. It would be like New Jersey having dozens of terror attacks in the last ten years and Muslim rape gangs in every city.

And that failure in your argument is beside the point that, if your defense of importing a terrorist-infested population is risk management rather than a ban, then your gun control argument contradicts itself.

Moving the goalposts to ''the whole of Europe'' I see.
Even then, with a population of 500 million, Europe has not seen 250 terror attacks this year.

Not even in the years 2006-2018 did that many occur.

No, dummy. I am saying our population is comparable to that of Europe, and the UK's population comparable to a single state. To accurately contrast statistics you must normalize the two datasets according to population.

Why is the comparison interesting to you?

So.. going by 2017..

Completed or foiled terror attacks in the UK: 107
Population of the UK in 2017: 65,110,000

By nov of 2017, the United States already had 317 mass shootings. Let's be generous and round that up to 400 mass shootings for 2017 (major overshoot, but it will serve the purpose of showing how wrong Monty is).

Population of the United States in 2017: 326,474,013

(107 / 65,110,000) = 0.00000164337
(317 / 326,474,013) = 9.70980805e-7 = 0.00000009790

0.00000164337 > 0.00000009790

Terrorism, at least in 2017, was a significantly more deadly problem in the UK than mass shootings in the United States. By two orders of magnitude.

Yeah, pick the worst year of terror attacks and use that as a comparison. That's not good statistical analysis.
How about using the figures from this year or maybe 2011 when there were no attacks.
Also you included foiled attacks and attacks where there were no deaths.
The only thing that you have proved is that you can torture statistics to make them say whatever you want then to say

Now let's do it honestly.

Terrorist attack deaths in 2017 (the most violent year on record) in the whole of Europe numbered 62.
That's around the same as the Vegas mass shooting.
