Also, cache a semi-automatic rifle with some boxes of ammo in the ceiling space above your desk at work. Maybe hide some more stuff in the server racks. You never know when shit might go down.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend that. In the urban environment the best bet is camouflage. Hide in plain site. If I thought I had to make it out of a AntiFa Riot, I might very well have black pants, black hoodie and a red bandana in my office. Maybe just a road vest and construction hard hat. Look like a worker, Have a Hillary placard. There's lots of things you could do.

I would definitely think self defense, but it would be smaller, hidden.
