Seems bizarre that in 2017 in the UK, arguments favoring gender segregation in a state institution are given serious consideration.

It kind of makes sense to keep them separated. We need more gender exclusive spaces in general.

For instance, several female friends are not as keen to go to the gym during certain hours for obvious reasons. Some gyms have experimented with lady only rooms. Not sure how well that works when the best equipment is on the main floor.

Teaching boys it's okay to rape and beat your wife, though, is fucking nuts. I don't think that gets better if you remove government funding. The government subsidies are not really the main issue here.
