Rigged: The Injustice of Corporate Welfare
I can only imagine what it must be like in the truly Marxist jurisdictions.
Here's a video from my hometown city.

I watched 5 minutes. Very familiar with the story, though it plays out here in the NYC area more for developers and financial firms than retail. I don't get your disdain for this. Why are you guys for corporate welfare, companies bleeding taxpayer money? It's just another part of BIG GOVERNMENT, isn't it? This isn't even about corporate income tax, the incentives are usually property tax abatements, free property and loan guarantees. States and Localities can't forgive corporate income.
Here in NJ "pay to play" is a time honored tradition. Developers donate to politicians and get tax abatements and other goodies. One of the reasons Christie and Samson had it in for Hoboken Mayor Zimmer was that she wouldn't roll over, take the payola, and and rezone an industrial area for Samson's firm in a way that would make them many millions. They just couldn't comprehend a NJ elected official that wasn't corrupt, it was unprecedented!

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Sorry Nuke Dog, it is what it is. Just because someone unliked is using a term doesn't make that term bad. It's corporate welfare. It's also welfare for the wealthy, the connected, or the corrupt where all the costs are public, and all the rewards are individualized.TheReal_ND wrote:Had to stop you right there mate. Of course, wellfare for the needed is enabling moochers, while the fatcats are all so virtuous as well as rightfully needy.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Well that term is nice and all but ND is right in the main. This is socialism in micro. This is how the proletariat sausage gets made.jbird4049 wrote:Sorry Nuke Dog, it is what it is.
