I'm assuming it would only go through if they are desperate because, I thought, they had the best of both worlds already. Government welfare from us, money for the bases and no federal tax. Could be wrong. Even if it goes through the only reason we would want them as a state is for the electoral college (democrats.) They don't have the power to make that happen and I never heard of a republican that wanted PR.

Well, they do have the best of both worlds.. unless they are bankrupt. Now they owe vulture funds a huge amount of money because of their welfare state appetite coupled with a low GDP.

Most PRs speak English - like baseball, and are catholic......not sure how well they'll fit in with the new Identity politics of the dnc

Some of them might be conservative, but most of them are going to turn hard left. That's just in their genetic makeup as far as I can tell. Do not confuse them with Cubans. They are very different people.
They are in this mess because the majority of their electorate wants raw socialism, dude.
