The most important problem for all forms of life, from single cell organisms all the way up to countries and empires, is membranics. I understand that but I'm just wondering what Smitty thinks was the real movers and shakers in the 1800s...was it really the Rothschilds or whatever haha. In Game of Thrones they had the Bank of Bravos ...Also wouldn't the Cold War hollow out Russia too? The 1980s got a bump b/c of the financialization of the economy. It was a sort of fake bump in hindsight.
